The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress was one of the most celebrated aircraft of World War II. It is remembered most for being the principal bomber of the Britain-based U.S. Eighth Air Force, whose strategic bombing campaign destroyed the German war industry. Stokes's tribute to the "Queen" shows two Eighth Air Force B-17Gs in formation.
