Among the world's most effective combat aircraft are the GE F110 engined F-16Cs of the United States Air Force 8th Tactical Fighter Wing based at Kunsan Air Base, Republic of Korea. These aerial warriors maintain a constant state of readiness and are prepared to counter any aerial threat to South Korea by Communist forces. The F-16, which first flew in 1973 is still considered to be the world's premier air-to-air dogfighting aircraft.
