Since before World War II McChord Air Force Base has provided air defense for the beautiful Pacific Northwest region. Over glistening Mt. Rainier, with the entire Puget Sound area in the distance, several generations of McChord aircraft: General Dynamics F-106, Lockheed C-130, C-141 and, beyond, the McDonnell Douglas F-15 and the venerable Lockheed T-33 are shown in loose formation.
