Legendary Major Gregory "Pappy" Boyington (USMC) leads a flight of Vought F4U
Corsairs on a combat patrol near the fortified Japanese base at Rabaul in the
Solomon Islands in early January 1944. In this beautiful rendition by master
aviation artist Craig Kodera, Boyington's aircraft #883 - one of three F4U-1
Corsairs he flew - appears in the foreground. Boyington led his famous
composite squadron of Marine Corps aviators, nicknamed the "Black Sheep", to
fame over two combat tours in the South Pacific, using unorthodox but highly
successful tactics. Each print in this exclusive new edition is signed by five "Black Sheep" pilots
who flew with Boyington, three of whom became "Aces". Don't miss your
opportunity to acquire this highly collectible lithograph before the edition is
sold out.
